about

Akansha

i work on backend and distributed systems, mostly in Go. i like building things myself and figuring out how they work underneath.

i build backend systems, mostly in Go, and mostly the kind that are hard to look at once they are running: distributed logs, RPC engines, rate limiters, deployment infrastructure. i like work where correctness is not obvious and you have to reason about it.

building from scratch

i build things from scratch to understand them. a protobuf compiler, an rpc engine, a kafka-shaped log. writing the parts myself helps me understand what the real versions are doing, and when something breaks i can trace it back to a decision i made.

applied ai

lately i have been moving toward applied ai. i want to understand llms by building applications with them, including retrieval, tool use and agents. i am also interested in evaluations and how to check whether these applications work reliably.

i am building pony, a Go runtime for multiple coding agents. it involves process and session lifecycles, concurrency, coordination and agent tooling. a lot of that is familiar systems work, just with agents running in it.

ai infrastructure is something i want to explore later. right now i am focused on learning how to build the applications themselves.

outside of it

outside of code, i like drawing, cooking, art and making things in general. i read manga and manhwa fairly often. i pick up technical books sometimes too, but i am not a regular book reader.

DiligenceAISoftware Engineer (Contract)

TypeScript, PostgreSQL, AWS, Hono, Next.js, GitHub Actions, Docker

  • i build and maintain production backend services and API integrations, including authentication, credential lifecycles and transaction synchronization. much of the work is making sure an interrupted sync can pick up safely: durable checkpoints, idempotency, bounded retries and recovery when a provider fails.
  • i work on PostgreSQL models and transactional workflows, with migrations, integrity constraints and regression tests around critical paths. for asynchronous workers, that means leases, queue deduplication, concurrency controls and enough structured observability to understand a failure.
  • i also work on CI/CD: GitHub Actions and Docker for tests, type checks and builds, followed by staging and deployment workflows on AWS.

Java, Spring Boot, Thymeleaf, SQL, BIRT, AWS S3

  • built a scheduled validation job that checked incoming orders and corrected combo pricing and page-count logic that had been wrong in a few edge cases.
  • built a bulk invoice download endpoint backed by S3, which turned a two-hour manual export into a single request.
  • reworked the SFTP ingest workflow so failed uploads surface properly instead of leaving files behind silently.
